Point and Shoot Riding
Can GPS technology make your riding more fun and adventurous? I just got my first iPhone/GPS and I had some fun with it in a new area of cycling while visiting family in western New York and PA.
"Point and Shoot" and take a new adventure!
Give it a try and GREAT to use with the Go Longer, Climb Stronger module in Cyclo-CLUB. That’s what I was using it for on my family excursion. FUN MAN! Quick tips…
*Using your GPS, familiarize yourself with the surrounding area the night before or morning of.
*Pick your first destination, 1-3 roads max is best–point and shoot.
*Get there, look at your surroundings and "feel the area" for what you want to do next.
*Point and shoot and ride to marker 2.
*This is effective because NO MAP lets you get a "feel for the area" until you’re there!
*Use this technique with CHUNKS from the CLUB. Fantastic to keep things fresh and adventurous.
Yes, obviously you can get much more detailed and STRICT. Keep in mind this technique is for FUN and adventure. Life is too short to have everything mapped out, my friend.
