Hi,
Ok i am one of the old guys you talked about today. I am 47 yrs young and live in the UK. I am a Sports Conditioning Coach and have sucessfully coached my partner (female of course) to European and World Long Distance Tri athlon Championships. Its easy for me to prescribe her cycling and i do it with the use of power. Now for me well thats a different story, prescribing for yourself is never easy, too many distractions with clients etc. So as an ex ranked World Class swimmer i can cope and the run, well, i just get on with it and run, but the bike ! Do you prescribe workloads with the use of Power for long distance triathlon? I have the ability to understand and learn but sometimes need the push like most my clients do. So if you can drop me a line and lets see what we can decide on.
Cheers
Gary
p.s. Just recovering from rotator cuff shoulder operation, should be 100% fit in maybe 4 weeks, can manage Ironman distance swim at moment, cannot climb too well on the bike, but then this is my biggest dilemma, cannot climb, always dropped. Running maybe 2 miles at most at moment
Hi Gary,
I have many workouts, modules, and training systems to help both your endurance and climbing power. Although I mainly focus on road cycling, I have large populations of TRI and MTB in http://cyclo-club.com
I understand your dilemma with prescribing for yourself, never easy for many of us. However, my job is not to be a coach, but rather a consultant that works with you and your needs and Cyclo-CLUB resources to conquer your goals.
My consult list is long right now and limited time left. Best thing to do is contact me through email and outline what you think you need and I will advise on the best course of action using my programs, plans, or membership.

Too old! Never! I am one of the old guys you referred to today being 56. Three years at 53 I had my best National 24 finishing with 357 miles following the programs. That was 147 miles above my average for the previous 12 years. Age brings experience and smarts which Lance demonstrated today bridging back up to retain his second place in the Tour. Keep up the good work.
BTW I have dropped 22 pounds this year riding less than I have in the past. I still have a way to go.
WOW! That’s one heck of an improvement my friend and one that proves the point. Good for you and what a great event that most people may not think about. I don’t know if I could do that.
But, I’m pumped that I had a small part in your success. Congrats Peter and thanks for sharing and when you break 400, I want to be the first to know!

It is about the decision. “After he made his decision Lance got very aggressive…” I am a 51 years old, fat man and I made a decision a little over a year ago to ride. Since that decision, I have lost and keep 40 pounds off. While, I still have another 40 pounds to lose, I have never felt more empowered and excited about living. Make your decision today.
