IRD 11-30: Spinning a Smaller Gear
If you’re an everyday cyclist or club member that has worked to increase spin power and efficiency using our Cyclo-SPIN Classes, then the IRD 11-30 Cassette may be a great investment for you to turn that technique into improved climbing performance.
I used it on the Death Ride with great success, but had some “problems”. Find out what happend and what I think of this large gear range product for your big ride or epic.
SPINNING A SMALLER GEAR…

Just listened to your Death Ride podcast and your problem with the lockring on the IRD cassette. In fact, there IS a tiny, light cassette tool that you can carry with you — the Stein Tool. Once you understand how to use it, it is both easy and effective. You can see and order it at Harris Cyclery in Newton, MA: http://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?ID=1214. Until you are absolutely sure you have the IRD problem solved, you might want to pick one up and carry it with you.
Thanks my friend. It was the spacer. Working great now.
